Raynaud’s and connective tissue disease advice - personalised support, guidance and reassurance

Living with Raynaud’s, scleroderma, connective tissue disease, or a rheumatological overlap syndrome can be challenging, particularly when symptoms are complex, unpredictable, or difficult to discuss during limited clinic appointments. Having access to trusted specialist support can provide reassurance, clarity, and confidence in managing your condition.

We are delighted to offer a dedicated private support service for patients living with these conditions, led by Louise, whose expertise in Raynaud’s and connective tissue disease spans more than two decades.

Louise is widely recognised for her extensive knowledge and experience in the care of patients with Raynaud’s, scleroderma and related connective tissue diseases. Throughout her career, she has supported patients at every stage of their journey, from diagnosis and treatment decisions to long-term disease management and emotional wellbeing.

During her time at The Royal Free Hospital in London, one of the UK's leading centres for connective tissue disease, Louise managed the national scleroderma advice line. In this role, she provided expert clinical guidance, advocacy, reassurance, and crisis support to patients across the country. She also worked closely with newly diagnosed patients, helping them understand their condition, navigate treatment options, and adjust to life with a chronic illness.

Her experience extends across multidisciplinary specialist clinics, supporting patients with complex and overlapping symptoms affecting multiple organ systems. In addition, Louise contributed to the department's national outreach programme, providing education and specialist guidance to healthcare professionals and patients throughout the UK.

A Different Kind of Support

This service is designed for patients who would value dedicated time with an experienced connective tissue disease specialist outside of routine medical appointments.

While we do not replace your consultant, rheumatologist or medical team, we provide an additional layer of expert support, helping you feel informed, supported, and empowered between appointments.

Many patients choose to access this service because they:

• Have questions they would like answered by an experienced specialist.

• Need guidance while awaiting investigations, appointments, or results.

• Would like help understanding symptoms, treatments, or medical information.

• Feel uncertain about managing aspects of their condition day to day.

• Are adjusting to a new diagnosis or a change in treatment.

• Simply want the reassurance of speaking with someone who truly understands the complexities of Raynaud’s and connective tissue disease.

Above all, we provide time — time to listen, time to answer questions, and time to support you as an individual.
